FAQ
Q. How many diffuser reeds should I use?
Start with about 5 reeds and adjust based on your scent preference.
Q. How long does the diffuser liquid last?
It depends on your environment — temperature, humidity, and airflow all affect diffusion speed.
On average, a 100ml bottle lasts around 3–4 weeks in a standard room setting.
Q. How long do the reeds last? When should I replace them?
Flip the reeds once a week to refresh the scent.
Replace them every two months, or sooner if they become saturated or dusty.
Q. Why does the scent feel subtle?
Mellvon diffusers are made with pure essential oils.
Synthetic fragrances are engineered to project strongly and spread quickly through added solvents and fixatives.
Essential oils, on the other hand, are natural plant extracts — their molecular structure is more complex and gentle,
so they evaporate slowly and evolve quietly over time.
Q. When I smell a single essential oil, it feels very strong — why not here?
That’s true — pure, single essential oils can smell quite intense when you smell them directly from the bottle.
Mellvon, however, isn’t built on single-note oils.
Each scent is a composition of around ten carefully balanced essential oils, slowly matured to let their sharper edges soften.
Over time, the notes settle and intertwine, creating a rounded, quiet depth — a scent designed for intimacy, not projection.
Q. The scent seems to fade after a few days — what should I do?
Because Mellvon uses a natural, alcohol-free base, the diffusion and longevity can be shorter than synthetic diffusers.
We recommend flipping the reeds once a week and gently swirling the bottle from time to time to refresh the scent and help the oils circulate evenly.
It may take a little extra care, but in return, you’ll experience a fragrance that truly lets nature breathe.
Q. Aren’t all diffuser bases basically the same?
Not at all.
The ingredients that carry and diffuse fragrance vary widely — and they make a huge difference in both scent quality and safety.
The most common base is alcohol, which can be plant-derived and generally clean, but it evaporates quickly and sometimes gives a sharp initial note.
Alcohol also has a low flash point, which limits air shipping.
To avoid these issues, many brands began using “alcohol-free” bases — but most of them rely on petrochemical solvents to increase diffusion and longevity.
Ironically, while alcohol can be more natural, it’s often less practical for large-scale production and transport.
In short, every base has a different balance of volatility and longevity, depending on which materials are used to diffuse and sustain the scent — and those choices define the character of the fragrance itself.
Q. What makes Mellvon’s base different?
Mellvon uses an alcohol-free, plant-derived base formulated for clean, balanced diffusion.
It blends seamlessly with essential oils, maintaining the integrity of each natural note.
The result is a base that’s gentle on the air, non-irritating, and slow-releasing — giving a softer scent throw and a longer, calmer presence compared to typical commercial diffusers.
Q. Is it safe to use around children or pets?
Our diffuser is made with pure essential oils and a non-toxic base.
While it’s generally safe, we recommend placing it out of reach of children and pets.
If you or your pet have specific sensitivities, please consult your healthcare provider or veterinarian.
Q. What’s the best way to store unused diffuser liquid or reeds?
Keep them in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight or heat.
Ensure the bottle cap is tightly sealed to preserve the natural scent and prevent evaporation.
